World Book Day

On Friday 14th March we celebrated ‘World Book Day’. We all dressed up as characters from books. Even the teachers joined in the fun!
In class we all entered a competition to design a World Book Day bookmark. Other activities included creating our own synopsis for a book and writing book reviews.
Here are our photos. Don’t we look good?

Our visit to the Millennium Stadium

On Tuesday 11th March we visited The Millennium Stadium in Cardiff as part of our 'Wonderful Wales topic.' We had a really enjoyable tour of the stadium.
We went into the 'Press Room' which was named after Ray Gravell, before going into the home and away changing rooms. We saw some of the welsh rugby and football jerseys hanging up. A few of the names we recognized were Leigh Halfpenny, Sam Warburton, Gethin Jenkins and Gareth Bale.
Afterwards we walked through the tunnel the players run out from. Music was playing loudly as if it were a match day.
Later on we were able to sit in the best seats in the stadium. These were made of leather and were very comfortable. This is where members of the Royal Family sit and very special guests. The hospitality rooms were very nice too and there was an excellent view of the pitch.
We learned that birds of prey are used to stop other birds nesting in the roof. The main type of bird used is the Harris Hawk.
Our tour guide said that we asked sensible questions and we were very well behaved.
